I don't fancy myself a painter but it is a very relaxing medium to work in - at least abstract painting is. At the behest of freinds, I finally tried my hand at painting a few months ago and wanted to try it again. This is a basic acrylic on canvas which I decided to add a bit of selective gloss "stripes" to. Rather than simple stripes that match the orientation of the painted ones, I applied the polyurethane in healthy amounts while the canvas was vertical creating shiny drips. I left a spotlight pointed at the canvas so you can see them more clearly in the lower right of the piece as they don't show up quite that well in the photograph. The sides of the canvas are painted black so if you don't want to frame it, you don't have too.
Materials Used: Canvas, acrylic paint, polyurethane
