Over a year before I began work on this piece I purchased several bags of dried hydrangea petals. I had no plan for them, they were just interesting. After moving into my home in June (2009) I finally had a spark of insomnia-inspired inspiration. I took a plain white canvas and began the process of individually removing the petals and gluing them to the canvas. The 'embellishments' are basic graphic designs that are outlined using dimensional (or 'puff') paint and an acrylic glaze.
